I’m already sure of what area I want to live in. I’ve looked at apartments. When would be a good time to go see apartments and also apply for jobs. Should I register with staffing companies? What is a good amount of money to have prior to moving? Any tips, suggestions anything.

My sister is moving out of state with her husband who is in the U.S airforce. He has to move and has no choice, and my sister can not stay in this state anymore because she will have no where to live. She has a child with another guy who has visitation 2 times a week for 6 hours, and every other saturday for 6 hours. He filed an emergency court trial to make it so my sister can not relocate her daughter. He refuses to talk to her about visitation or anything. The babys daddy is 22 works at subway and lives with his mother, he’s not going to school, and he has never gave his daughter a bath, and he’s never had an overnight, he won’t even take her to the doctor, he can not finacially support himself, and has no insurance. My sister is a stay at home mom support by her husband in the air force, she take great care ofher daughter, and is with her 24/7, and provide all the insurance. Any help would be great just some tips, or what could possibly happen, can they make her stay in the state?
Thank you very much for helping me or at least taking your time to read this i apperciate it so much =D

I am moving to Georgia next year with my children, and it is my first time moving to a different state. I do not know what part I’d like to move to yet. The factors for where I move will mostly or should I say extremely revolve around my children. An excellent school system is key, I do not want to deprive my kids of the best education there is. I’d like it to be a kid friendly neighborhood. No violence or drugs!!! I do not have a clue where to start all I know is what state I want to move to. When should I start making preparations, what will make this a smooth transition for me and my children. What will it cost me?? Any tips would be most appreciated Thank you

I am about to start negotiating salary / bonus for a new position (800 miles away). This is a director position (healthcare), covering a geographical area emcompassing 5 states. I have never had this kind of opportunity, so I need some tips on salary and sign-on bonus negotiating.
What should I ask for? What other things do I consider when negotiating? I am a nurse…so what kind of sign-on bonus should I seek?

I must move across country and my job is taking care of expenses due to the move. They have hired a moving company that comes in and packs my stuff, puts it on a semi, it is driven across country, then another company unpacks me at my new house. Do I tip the movers? There are 3 packing me and placing items in the truck and they say it should take 3, maybe 4 days. If I tip them, what would be reasonable? I have beverages that they can have throughout the day. Thanks.

I was scouted by a company in a neighboring state (240 miles away). I have extensive experience with their type of products and they’ve scheduled a second interview. My family cannot afford to move without some type of relocation assistance. This isn’t a huge company, but they have very high revenue for their size, meaning I don’t think it would be a hardship for them. Am I in a good position to leverage for relocation assistance?

I’m one half (the words half) of a creative team. We have a couple of years experience working together in a London agency, and are both now very – very very very – keen to move to the states. We’re currently looking to make a move, whether or not we go abroad, and are getting our book together. But I’m wondering if there are any London based recruitment consultants who specialise in – or have a good track record of – creative recruitment to agencies in the US, or relocation in general? Thanks, buddies

I work at a company where the owner is asking us to reimburse relocation expenses without taxing or 1099′ing the employee. These are expenses like the deposit on someone’s apartment, the deposit on utilities, installation/startup costs of their digital cable tv, application fee for new apartment etc. These are for employees who are being relocated within the company (not new employees).
