Relocating / Sign-on Etc?

I am about to start negotiating salary / bonus for a new position (800 miles away). This is a director position (healthcare), covering a geographical area emcompassing 5 states. I have never had this kind of opportunity, so I need some tips on salary and sign-on bonus negotiating.
What should I ask for? What other things do I consider when negotiating? I am a nurse…so what kind of sign-on bonus should I seek?

Everything is negotiable here. What you need to look at is the total value of your comp package rather than just one element (like base salary.)
I’m not too familiar with recruitment in the medical field. For directors in technology firms, the packages I’ve seen include:
-move of household goods
-lump sum (grossed up to cover taxes) or company-paid points (to a $$ amount) on a loan
-closing costs (or a portion thereof)
-temporary housing in the new location 60 – 90 days is typical
-house-hunting trip(s)
Sometimes directors receive a company vehicle or car allowance (esp. if the position involves travel.) Participation in a bonus plan and/or equity at some level are also common. A sign-in bonus might be $5 – $10k.
